  • How are your fees calculated?
    Our billing services are charged as a percentage of the collected amount by the facility. It varies depending on who is responsible to collect copay from patients and by monthly claims volume. Please contact us for a quote.
  • How are denials handled?
    We follow up on all denials. If by any reason, we can't reprocess the claim, we will work with the provider on the best solution.
  • Do you provide Prior Authorization services?
    Ike Pono Medical Billing Hawaii doesn't not provide aithorizations services. We help providers keep track of them.
  • Do I need to have a billing software?
    We use state of the art billing software which interfaces with serveral EMR's without extra charge. See List of EMR's here.
  • Is the service outsourced to offshore companies?
    We do not outsource your billing to overseas as many other billing companies do. We are available to answer your questions regarding your account fast and accuratly. We value quality over quantity of clients. We are here to contibute to your success.
  • What is the usual implementation timeline?
    Once an agreement is signed, we start working on getting all the paperwork done with the clearinghouse and the payers. We usually submit all paperwork in 48hrs and are able to submit claims electronically within 3 weeks. We are able to start submission of paper claims in 24-48hrs after agreement is signed.
  • Compliance and Patient Privacy
    Our processes meet the standards of billing compliance set by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Office of the Inspector General (OIG). We take compliance and patient privacy very seriously.
  • Does medicare covers opioid treatment?
    Medicare offers options to help you treat patients with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). They pay for: Office-based OUD treatment, including management, care coordination, psychotherapy, and counseling activities. Treatment provided by enrolled Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs). Services include medication (like methadone and buprenorphine), counseling, drug testing, and individual and group therapy. They cover counseling and therapy services in person and virtually.
  • How much does it cost to have drug addiction billing done for a facility?
    Our billing services are charged as a percentage of the collected amount by the facility. Our standard percentage is 6% of the total collected amount.
